Retired Vice Chairman and Global and US Aerospace & Defense Sector Leader, Deloitte LLP

Tom Captain is the recently retired and long-time leader for Deloitte’s global Aerospace and Defense sector practice. In his 36 years with Deloitte, Tom specialized in aircraft launch programs, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and M&A. He is one of the most cited, well known and respected experts in the sector.

In 2003, he was the Industry Advisor to Washington’s Governor Gary Locke in their $3.2 billion successful bid to be selected by Boeing as the location for the 787 program final assembly in Everett.

He is frequently quoted by the media, e.g., Wall Street Journal, Reuters, Associated Press, New York, LA and Seattle Times, and presents at key industry events globally. He served on the Board of Governors for the Aerospace Industries Association and the National Defense Industry Association. He currently serves as a Trustee at the Museum of Flight, is a Board Director at EOS Aircraft and an Executive Advisor to Spike Aerospace. He was recently named to the “100 Most Influential People in US Defense”, by Defense News. He was recently elected a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society in London for his contributions to the global aerospace industry.
