Mike Preiner is the founder of The Math Agency, an organization whose mission is to close educational gaps in math in public schools.

Mike has a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Stanford University. He also has extensive experience in startups and entrepreneurship: he has founded and sold two software and analytics companies. Both companies were involved in sustainable agriculture, and were supported by some of the top venture capital firms in the world. In his founder role, Mike has experience managing teams across a broad range of disciplines, including data science, product management, design, and human resources.

Mike grew up in a low-income family in rural Minnesota. He was part of the first generation in his family to go to college, and worked a full time job as an undergraduate to pay for it. This experience, along with the research on the relationship between education on social inequality, has given him a deep appreciation for the potential of education to drastically impact social mobility.
