Kathryn Sherrill, MSW, BSN – Deputy Director, VA Puget Sound Health Care System
Kathryn Sherrill was appointed VA Puget Sound Health Care System Deputy Director May 13, 2019. She brings with her 25 years of VA experience in leadership and health care administration in roles such as VA Puget Sound Acting Deputy Director, Acting Director for Diagnostics & Imaging Service and Chief for Social Work Service as well as Acting Chief of Staff for Mental Health Service at Roseburg VA Health Care System.
Sherrill started her career with the VA in 1996 at VA Palo Alto Health Care System as a social worker in the acute inpatient care setting and then the Director of the Home-Based Primary Care Program. She has further expertise in management and leadership through her experience as a health system specialist for VA’s national program for Spinal Cord Injury & Disorders (SCI/D) Services where she provided oversight of the VA/Department of Defense SCI/D initiatives.
Sherrill earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Fresno, and a Master of Social Work from San Jose State University. She is a graduate of the Excellence in Government Fellows Program, VISN 21/22 Leadership Development Institute and the VA Puget Sound Emerging Leadership Development Program.
Sherrill is currently engaged in national 3D Printing & Innovation Initiatives, the Artificial Intelligence Federal Leadership Program, and the WA State Hospital Association Executive Safety Academy.
