Jerry Chiang is General Counsel at DistroKid, a SaaS unicorn valued at $1.3 billion dollars and the world’s largest distributor of independent music (one out of every three new songs on Spotify comes from DistroKid). Prior to DistroKid, Jerry began his legal practice in the music industry by working for Jimi Hendrix’s family company and then built his practice at the intersection of technology and IP rights at companies like Amazon, Apple, and Rhapsody International (d/b/a Napster). In his free time, Jerry serves on the board of KEXP, attends concerts (a big perk of being part of the ownership group of the legendary Seattle venue, The Crocodile), and loves traveling (some recent highlights include Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Vik, Iceland, and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico). A few fun facts about Jerry: he is a proud double Husky (UW undergrad and law school), a hobbyist DJ under the moniker Diet Panda, and a recent recipient of Puget Sound Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 award.
