Dr. Bhanu’s Bio
Dr. Bhanu P. Gupta, MD, MSc is the Northwest Regional Medical Director for Heart Failure and LVAD at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, where he leads systemwide integration of advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology services. He recently co-directed the launch of the new Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Virginia Mason Medical Center on November 4, 2025, and built a pioneering regional cardiogenic shock and advanced heart failure program serving patients across the Pacific Northwest. Previously, he was the founding Program Director of the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship at The University of Kansas Health System. His mission is to improve outcomes and quality of life for patients with heart failure through innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Dr. Gupta is also passionate about the use of artificial intelligence in cardiovascular care, supported by his certification from the MIT Sloan School of Management in AI applications in healthcare.
