John Shin – Senior G10 FX Strategist at Bank of America Merrill Lynch

John Shin joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2008 as a Senior G10 FX Strategist, based in New York. In this capacity he is responsible for the flagship monthly publication, World At A Glance, and is the Bank’s Chief G10 Currency Economist.

Prior to joining Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Mr. Shin was a G10 FX strategist at Lehman Brothers in New York. Beyond his role as a strategist, John was a US economist on the Lehman Brothers Global Economics research team. John was also a postdoctoral research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research in Cambridge, MA; and worked at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C. in their Macroeconomic and Quantitative Studies Section.

John holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University, where he was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow; and a BA in Economics with High Distinction from the University of California at Berkeley.
