Objective: Welcoming peace celebration with the community and the dedication of the
Peace Pole donated by the Bellevue Rotary Club.

Guidelines for Rotary/YMCA Poster and Essay Contest

WHAT KID WOULD NOT LOVE TO WIN $100?!!! GET YOUR KIDS AND GRANDKIDS INVOLVED.

The poster and essay contests on the theme of ‘MY VISION OF PEACE’ are sponsored by the Bellevue Rotary Club along with the celebration of the Rotary Peace Pole dedication at PEACE FEST. 

POSTERS:  GIVE YOUR NAME, AGE, CONTACT INFORMATION

  • Can be any size and any art medium on the theme My Vision of Peace.
  • Message carries the most weight, not so much the sophistication of the art.  
  • Limited to young people up to high school level (19 years old)
  • Posters must be submitted by September 12 at the YMCA before closing.
  • Cash Prizes will be awarded at the September 17 event at the Peace Pole dedication ceremony ($100 1st prize, $75 2nd prize, $50 3rd prize)

ESSAYS:  GIVE YOUR NAME, AGE, CONTACT INFORMATION

  • Essays must be limited to 1,000 words 
  • Must be legible, preferably in computer printed text
  • Limited to young people up to high school level (19 years old)
  • Essays must be submitted by September 12 at the YMCA before closing
  • Cash prizes will be awarded at the September 17 event at the Peace Pole dedication ceremony. 
  • ($100 1st prize, $75 2nd prize, $50 3rd prize)
  • Winners of the contest will be asked to read their essays the day of the event September 17
