Bellevue Rotary is partnering with the Family YMCA of Bellevue to dedicate a Peace Pole on UN International Day of Peace September 21. Members of the YMCA will express what peace means to them in the eight languages plus braille on the Peace Pole from countries they represent. Languages—Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Russian, Korean, Japanese, Arabic. and English.
Preceding the event, YMCA families will create posters to enter the “Peace Begins with Us” poster contest for cash prizes that will be awarded on September 21st (see the poster below). The event will bring together YMCA members and Rotarians for peace-inspired activities (see the second poster). Our Bellevue Rotary Club is committed to creating opportunities for peace and greater awareness of peace.
