Kate moved to Bellevue in 2010 to accept a full-time, tenure track professorship in Art History at Bellevue College, whereupon she taught for eleven years. During her time at Bellevue College she developed the online Art History curriculum, organized exhibits for the Gallery Space and acted as Department Chair, among other things. In 2020, she gained membership at the Appraiser Association of America and became a qualified art appraiser. She has also served at the Director for a private art collection in Bellevue, Washington. It was around this time that Kate was invited to join the Board of Trustees at the Bellevue Arts Museum. In September 2023, Kate was asked to take leave of the BAM Board and step in at Interim Executive Director of the museum. By February 2024 she was offered the permanent position, which she accepted. Kate still appraises art but her primary mission is to guide the Bellevue Arts Museum into a sustainable model that can provide arts and culture for our community for decades to come.
