John Glanville will speak on the work of Shelterbox, whose mission is to build awareness of global displacement and to facilitate providing families with life-saving shelter and essential tools and supplies that will enable them to rebuild their homes and transform their lives after disaster. Shelterbox works with many Rotary and Rotoract clubs around the world, and in 2012 became Rotary International’s first project partner, providing relief and temporary shelter to disaster survivors worldwide and here in the US, including those displaced by the devastating fires in Los Angeles. Shelterbox receives tremendous support from Rotary, and in turn acts as a catalyst to encourage people worldwide to become involved with their local club, as well as offering youth opportunities for cultural exchange and leadership training.
